Happy Mardi Gras Ya'll

Ms. Hawas taught us how to dance to Zydeco.
Zydeco is music from Louisiana.

We love MARDI GRAS!!

Today, we learned about Mardi Gras!! Students were so excited. We learned that Mardi Gras is celebrated in Louisiana. We learned the music the cajuns love to listen to is called Zydeco. Students even learned how to dance to Zydeco. Ask them to show you! We learned the three colors that represent Mardi Gras are yellow, green, and purple.

We watched what a parade looks like and even made Mardi Gras mask. Ms. Hawas tossed beads to students and they tried to catch them. Click on the link below to listen to the Zydeco music with your child.

    This explains why Illias was half asleep in the 4 minute car ride we have from Merrill to our house LOL. Sounds like you all had a blast!

    Thanks for the pictures! Michael was excited to show me his mask and beads. He told me what Mardi Gras is and what the cake is called and about the "baby" :-) He said his favorite part was catching the beads and dancing.
