What is a book nook? It is a quiet place for children to read. Ask your child where their favorite place to read is. Does your child have a quiet book nook reading place at home? Make sure students are reading in a quiet place every night. :)
Trying Books On For Size
Remember the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears? Goldilocks had trouble finding a chair and a bed that fit just right. Books are much the same way. Read on!
How do I know if a book fits me just right?
Too Easy
I know all of the words on a page.
- I can tell what the story is about without reading it.
- I know it by heart because I have read it so many times before.
- The book is easy to read by myself.
Just Right
- I know most of the words on a page.
- I have a good idea of what the book is about.
- I can understand what I am reading and can tell someone else about it.
- The book is a little challenging to read by myself.
Too Hard
- I do not know 4 to 5 or more words on a page.
- I do not know what the book is about.
- I cannot understand what I am reading.
- The book is too hard for me to read by myself.
