Golden Septor

Today we heard the Kindness Queen on the morning announcements. Coach Brown Smith's "cousin", the Kindness Queen, will be looking for students and adults
who exhibit Noblesse Oblige manners. Noblesse Oblige is French for
nobility obligates or noble obligation. True royalty behaves in a kind, generous and responsible manner. If teachers see a student or adult do an
extra kind, generous or responsible deed they are to let the Kindness Queen know. The honored person or class will receive a Golden Scepter award; his, her or their photo featured on the Kindness Queen's wall and an extra 15 minutes of P.E.

Our very first Golden Scepter goes to someone who really demonstrated what it means to be a great friend and supporter. He was spotted being extra kind during math workshop. A student was having trouble writing a number and after many times she wrote the number the right way. Instead of saying something negative, this Golden Scepter friend said, "Yay! You got it. Way to go!!" I am so proud of him for encouraging his friends when they have proud moments. Way to be a great friend!!

  1. YAAAAAAAAY!!!! Reading this story warms my heart!! I'm over the moon proud of my little Bud! Knowing this, how comfortable he is talking to other kids, knowing that he's willing to go out of his way to say nice things, it lets me breathe a sigh of relief! Kindergarten just became a little less scary for me. Thanks for all you do!
